Latest Addition!

So I am working on an order for a Drop Deck right now so I thought I would post some pics of the process. One of the great things about having a work from home business is that I can get all of my kids involved in the stuff I do. Which is great. Spend time with the kids....work on stuff I love. I am truly blessed. anyway here are the pics:

I am making two versions of this deck, a 5/8" version and a 3/8" version. I make all my boards our of Baltic Birch right now, for the strength and the look of the wood.

The 5/8" boards are super stiff and are pretty tough, while the 3/8" boards have a lot of flex in them...still strong though.
 Starting to take shape:

Riding on His Word

Being commited to spreading the Word of God is one of the underlying philosophies behind every board I make. So one of the unique attributes of riding a TiPSI D longboard is that every board carries a bit of that word allowing you to live that verse in Ephesians, " place on your feet whatever makes you ready to spread the Gospel of Peace" (Eph 6:15)

Check out the latest:

Translation: The Lord is my Light and Salvation, whom shall I Fear?

More verses to come!

Words to Think About

“If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him” (James 1:5).

So there are a lot of businesses out there...so what makes mine different? Well for one thing, instead of using a conventional business model...where one makes a businesses plan and presents it to the bank and gets a start-up loan, I started Tipsi D longboards using a biblical model of finance.

But I guess that I should probably put things in to context. Just over seven years ago, like many other North Americans out there, we were swimming in debt.....with a capital D. One time I actually sat down and figured out that if I only worked to pay the principal...never mind the interest on our credit cards, it would take 15 years to pay off what we owed on credit cards!!! There comes a time when a man is faced with the stark reality that he can not do things alone. When that time comes...it can cause a man to fall. Which is exactly what I did....to my knees.

I realized that if I was to ever get out of this mess, I would need to turn to God for help. Around this time several things happened within months of each other...in a way that can only be described a providential. First, we went on a family retreat that totally blew us away! We were pretty devout already, but this retreat brought our faith to a whole new dimension! It was there I pleaded with God to help us out of our Debt Crisis.

Next we heard about this family called the Duggars who at the time had 17 kids and started to watch their reality show....which I where I first learned about the Scriptural principles for financial management.

To make a long story short, after about 4 years of following the financial principles laid out in Scripture, we are credit card free. Line of credit free. Car payment free. Check out this site for some of these principles I mentioned.

Anyway here are some pics of a board that I am working on:

Gavin is also working on a board of his own:
